Reasons why I love NWA

I love to travel! We travel a couple of times a year and always try to visit somewhere new. I love taking in different cities, beaches, and even small towns.  But, I really love where I live. There’s always somewhere to go, something to see, or people to meet! I live in Northwest Arkansas, and the fun opportunities are endless! FayVegas could not be a more accurate nickname for my little corner of Arkansas! The concept is centered around Fayetteville, which is one of the cities in NWA.

In NWA we have tons of different activities, from outdoor trails to concert venues to malls. The Razorback Greenway is a trail that runs through 4 cities in NWA. You can bike, run, walk, or whatever it is you like to do on a gorgeous day!! However, on the total opposite side of the spectrum, the Walmart AMP is  just a few minutes away. I can attend concerts from big artists such as Lady Antebellum, Kenny Chesney, Khalid…you get the idea! How fun is that on a summer night?? I know right! Fayetteville is also home to the Walton Arts Center which is an amazing performing arts center. We are lucky to have fabulous shows come to our area. That sits on Dickson Street, which is full of great restaurants with a cool vibe. NWA also has an art museum called Crystal Bridges with beautiful grounds.

We also have a ton of boutiques. While there are two malls, there are probably more unique boutiques than most big cities right here at my fingertips!! Our local boutiques are so good at keeping up with the current trends (the college town vibe helps that). Some of our boutique owners design and make their own lines which is really fun because it feels personal. We literally have everything from shoes and purses, formals and wedding gowns, the latest denim, and the cutest tops available within a 40 mile radius. Each boutique has its own feel and brand which makes shopping so fun!!

The fact that Fayetteville is a college town (WOO PIG!!) adds charm and excitement to NWA! Football, baseball, basketball games, and tailgating are a must. The college aspect brings cool restaurants, new people, and different activities to the area. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some of the most interesting people from other cities or states that attend the U of A, and also tried different hobbies they may participate in.

Basically, NWA has it all! For someone like me, these little details make my home so  fun and interesting. I love love NWA!!

Just some thoughts I had to share since this shirt is so so perfect for the place I call home! You can shop other tanks like this one from Golden Girls by clicking this link ——> TANKS

I LOVE SPRING!!!♥♥ It seems so optimistic with everything in bloom, warm weather creeping up, and endless activities. For me personally, I love being outside (despite my terrible allergies) doing any activity. Hiking, riding bikes, going on walks, shopping, getting dinner with friends on a patio, and nights filled with Benadryl are just a few of the things I love about spring. School is coming to an end and it seems as if everything is wrapping up for summer. Here are some of my faves:

  1. Car rides with the windows rolled down and music turned up!! For anyone interested, I love to listen to country music with my friends and drive down backroads!!
  2. Sunshine, Sunshine, SUNSHINE!! and my pale skin getting burnt from SUNSHINE! There’s something about Vitamin D that makes you feel so good!
  3. Multiple ice cream and Sonic runs! To me, nothing beats a dripping ice cream cone in the heat or a Sonic drink to keep throughout the day!
  4. Working out outside! Some people don’t like working out, I get it! However, I love working out so I can eat ice cream, and being outside makes the workouts 10x more fun!!
  5. Jesus and Easter!! The anticipation of Easter and celebrating is so fun to me!! I still love dying eggs and making carrot topped desserts!
  6. BASEBALL!! It definitely doesn’t hurt that my super cute bf plays either!
  7. Of course I also love shopping when it’s warmer!! My style is more laid back and casual! I love this blush pleated shirt in the pics below because it combines a good color, classic look, and some trendy detailing.

What’s y’all’s favorite season? What makes you smile? Happy Easter!!

What holds you back?

It seems like a lot of times there’s something that can hold us back from chasing a dream. The little thing is like an echo in our head that comes and goes. It may be a fear of failure, the feeling of a time crunch, or worry about what others will think. The “thing” (as I’ll refer to it) can and has caused a lot of people to lay down their dreams and pick up something else….something safer. The “thing” can affect every aspect of our life if we allow it to. The good news is that you don’t have to be held back by anything!! This world is a giant canvas and desires that are placed in your hearts and minds are there for a reason.

  1. Don’t ask permission to be yourself!! Just honestly be yourself. DO NOT compare yourself to others. You will lose in your mind more than half of the time if you do that.
  2. Don’t wait around for the perfect time! There may not be a perfect time. Some times may be more optimal than others, but there’s never a perfect time. Something will always come up.
  3. Remember that hard work will trump talent a lot of the time! You need to be willing to work hard for things.
  4. What you feel about a certain thing today may not be how you will feel about it next week. It’s okay to try something and then decide it’s not a good fit for you. At least you will gain experience from the effort of trying. Know when to say when and when to keep going.
  5. Don’t expect your results to be instantaneous. Good things take time!!
  6. Have fun!! Seriously, have fun with whatever you’re trying to accomplish.

What holds you back from trying new things? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

This post isn’t fashion related, but it was on my mind today! Happy Saturday!!
